Bio

TramesFACTICES, a textile research project led by Amandine Fabry, questions the very notion of fabric, exploring its architecture, plasticity, and representations. The graphic work disrupts traditional perceptions of textiles: the stripe, far from being simple or anodyne, deconstructs the linearity of weaving while subtly revealing the richness of textile culture.

The graphic designs play with the relationship between interlacing and form, providing a nuanced reinterpretation. The textile vocabulary highlighted by this research engages in dialogue with the history of fabrics, weaving delicate connections between graphics, materiality, and heritage.

Wrinkles

Wrinkles is a one-piece woven wool plaid featuring an intriguing double-sided effect: each side of the fabric has a different pleat pattern and a different color range. The project lies at the intersection of real and false wefts, exploring an original construction at the heart of the weave. It is a mise en abyme of the structure of weaving itself, where traditional know-how is sublimated by the contribution of technology, while remaining faithful to its ancestral gestures.
