Giel Dedeurwaarder

Driven by his passion and enthusiasm for design, Giel Dedeurwaerder studies, experiments and constructs objects on a daily basis, which tend to go against the notions of desirability and reality within our contemporary society. In doing so, he always focuses on the balance between functionality, proportions and philosophy.

Bio

Every design stands for purity of material and form. Within this approach, it is therefore essential to put utility in measure with the purity, so that a functional object can always be obtained. Each project led by Giel Dedeurwaerder is the result of an interest in history and evolution, too. Linked to this approach, a lot of inspiration comes to him from Russian avant-garde artists, Japanese philosophy, and Danish ideology, as well as selected materials and the everyday usage of objects.
