Bio
Born in 1975, Lucile Soufflet studied Industrial Design at La Cambre in Brussels. Her design research focuses on individuals and relationships, as well as the playful side of life. Her studio specialises in projects around urban and outdoor furniture. Soufflet is, in fact, very interested in the notions of public space and community gatherings, which relate to important themes within her work, such as interaction, exchange, diversity, and the relationship between space and plants. Part of her practice is therefore devoted to public spaces, and how to invest them with new meaning. The studio’s flagship project -produced by TF Urban- is the “Circular Benches”, which come in a range of different models each year, identical in process, but specific in shape. The benches are sized individually in order to better underline the location in which they are meant to be placed.
Beside her renowned circular benches, Soufflet also enjoys working on everyday domestic objects. Paying particular attention to our social behaviour -and the material elements that shape our daily environment- she envisages her practice in a subjective and rather personal way.
